African Centre for Women Information Communication and Technology (ACWICT): Expanding Women and Youth ICT innovation opportunities for economic integration within the EAC member states, IIDEA Project
The mixed methods formative assessment assessed the status of EAC integration in view of addressing trade barriers for women and youth involved in cross-border trading.  It assessed trader’s knowledge, experiences and challenges in the use of ICT for cross-border trading and digital oriented opportunities cross-border trading agencies available for traders and barriers to its use. The assessment was done in Namanga and Busia Cross-border points and targeted women and youth cross-border traders and cross-border trading agencies in Kajiado County (Kenya) and Longido District (Tanzania), and Busia County (Kenya) and Busia District (Uganda).
